2013 Champ Awarded Belt in Controversial Vote

  Yesterday at the 2014 GNR Draft Commissioner Montiverdi awarded the new Championship Belt to Ocelot Team owner Mr Hanson.  Before awarding the belt to The Ocelots the Commissioner held a vote for all available team owners.  The vote was heavily in favor of awarding the belt to the Ocelots as the two time defending Champs, but was contested by the owner of JIZONU.  Mr Johnson, team owner of JIZONU, was very out spoken about the belt being only for this years winner and that the Ocelots have no claim to that belt.  

  Mr Johnson is known for being outspoken and controversial as his team JIZONU.  The recluse owner made his millions during the internet porn boom and his company JIZONU Inc has been at the center of many controversial lawsuits.  JIZONU Inc specializes in reptilian animal porn and furies and is a multi-million dollar company traded on the Nasdaq under the symbol JIZZ.

  Only one other team owner spoke up but it was in defense of awarding the Ocelots the belt and that was Mr Graham the owner of Cubito Aequet.  Mr Graham said, "As much as I love JIZONU I can't agree with his decision on this matter."  

  Mr Johnson stormed out of the draft room screaming that "the vengance of JIZONU will rain down upon all that oppose me!"

Randomized Drug Testing for League Owners

  Today Commissioner Roger Goddell has implemented randomized Drug testing for NFL Fantasy Football owners due to a rash of drug related problems in the NFL.  These tests will be issues throughout the season and will start at your draft party.

  It is believed that owners have been taking PEDs in hopes of helping their players.  Some owners have been caught selling PEDs to the real NFL players on their fantasy teams.  "This is a real problem that must stop now", said Commissioner Goddell. 

Each league has at least one owner that is breaking the substance abuse policy.   The NFL is looking to break the code as soon as possible.   Keep your eyes open for the owner in your league!

League Fees Set and Start Rolling In

    The Commissioner's Office sent an email to all team owners this morning about league fees for this year and how Paypal will be the service of choice.  Paypal will allow owners to pay dues and fees throughout the year from either a computer, smart phone, or tablet.  This allows for extreme flexibility when it comes to collecting fees.

  The fees are set like this:

  A $20 buy in for all teams, and then each week the losing teams have to pay $2 per team.  This losing fee will be paid to the highest scoring team each week ($10/wk).  I think that everyone can manage $2.00 each week for losing and it gives everyone a chance to win money each week.  I would ask that all $2 payments be paid to my Paypal account before Wednesday night and then on Friday's I will payout to the top scorer from that week.  This gives everyone a chance to win something and also gives people the initiative to set their lineup each week.

The Paypal service will charge a small fee for using any type of credit or debit card, so linking Paypal to your bank account is the suggested method from the league office.  Paypal will NOT charge you the fee if you pay with your linked bank account.

  The Commissioner's Office has also asked all owners to submit their email addresses to the league office by Monday so they can begin tracking payments.

Championship Belt Arrives at Commissioners Manor

  Above is a picture of the security detail that arrived at the commissioner's manor.  The Brinks truck had aerial support and several additional State Police details covering the delivery of the package.   The Championship belt arrived Monday and has been locked in a secure safe until draft day.  The Commish has assigned his head of security (Enzo) to watch over the belt for the next week. 

  We will keep everyone up to date on the status of the security situation.  Current Security Level is Orange.

  The Commissioners office is looking into the question of league fees.  What can make the league interesting but yet not be too expensive for all the owners in the league.  The reason the question of fees has come up is to make the league stay competitive throughout the full season.  We are looking for a reason to keep team owners engaged throughout the year.  One of the biggest complaints the league office gets each year is that some team has decided to bail on their season and have stopped putting up a competitive team each week.  The league office takes this kind of complaint seriously and has been looking into ways to combat this problem.

  Earlier today the league office sent out an email to all current owners requesting that the respond to the league with their preferred method of fees.  There were three options given to the owners.  The league is expecting to hear back from all owners by the end of this week.

Championship Belt on It's Way

  Ladies and gentlemen the championship belt is on it's way!  The idea of a trophy or a belt was a landslide.  So this year we will have a belt for the champion and possibly a post season part to award the belt to the Champ.  This belt has to engraving plates so that we can show the winners each season.  These plates can be removed and have new plates added.  The belt also can fit up to a 50" waste and there is no plastic on the belt and it's made out of leather.  

  I will post and update when the belt arrives.  The belt is currently in production and is scheduled to be here before draft night!  Who will be the first winner to wear this belt?

2014 Geeks, Nerds, and Rednecks Becomes More Interactive!

  2014 GNR League Becomes More Interactive!

  With the kickoff of the NFL Preseason the Geeks, Nerds, and Rednecks League comes online in a more interactive and exciting way.  The commissioner is looking into some exciting ideas as well as new ways to keep the league competitive.  This year the league started a Twitter account under the handle 2014GNRFF that will help disseminate league news and entices owners to speak their minds.
